SlyRhyno.com has articles on interactive marketing, web development, design, SEO, UX, and social media. The purpose is to help make the web a better place, starting with making your website better. While there are many articles across various sites dedicated to each topic, this site is designed to give a step-by-step guide for business owners, non-profits, or even individuals who want to have a great site, but don't have an in-house webmaster or an on-call interactive agency to build their site for them. This site assumes you either have a website or are interested in building a site, but do not have years of experience in the field.
With more than 15 years of experience with the internet, I've witnessed an evolution. Many websites that were built in the "Wild West" days established the habits of web developers and designers today. The primary focus was to make a site look the way the designer intended. Unfortunately, there were few standards, if any, and web browsers were proprietary. This led to many issues such as sites that looked different on each browser, frustrated users, and shady techniques to boost search engine visibility.
In the past 5 years that I've worked directly with website administration and optimization, I've learned quite a bit from research, countless mistakes, and some successes. Those who know my work have asked me for help or advice on occasion. I realized that many could benefit from this information, but it just needs to be more accessible. I may not have all the answers, but I'm hoping this site will at least be helpful.
